My Mission

Hey, I'm Grace! Welcome to my collective. Through powerful storytelling, my hope and mission is to create imagery and stories that empower communities and inspire change. Inner Peace uses photography to document stories of hope, healing and change.

What Guides this Work

The guiding belief behind Inner Peace Collective is that healing, justice, and environmental action are deeply interconnected.
By blending photography, storytelling, and lived experience, this platform seeks to:

  • Illuminate climate realities and community-led solutions

  • Highlight LGBTQ+ stories, social justice movements, and intersectional identities

  • Capture moments of personal and collective healing

  • Inspire action rooted in compassion, awareness, and connection

This isn’t just documentation - it’s an invitation to reflect, feel, and respond.

Intersectional Environmentalism

"This is an inclusive version of environmentalism that advocates for both the protection of people and the planet. It identifies the ways in which injustices happening to marginalized communities and the earth are interconnected. It brings injustices done to the most vulnerable communities, and the earth, to the forefront and does not minimize or silence social inequality. Intersectional environmentalism advocates for justice for people + the planet."                                                                                                                               ~ Leah Thomas

About me

My name is Grace Grimes, and I’ve been a photographer for over 15 years. Photography has always been my way of creating stories, preserving emotion, and capturing meaning in the world around me. It’s the language I use to express beauty, stillness and transformation. I love documenting moments in time and creating photographs that can carry so much meaning.

In 2020, everything shifted. I woke up to the reality of the climate crisis, deeply moved and shaken by Greta Thunberg’s 2019 climate summit speech. That awakening along with COVID, BLM, and the 2020 election pushed me into action. I felt a responsibility to be a part of the change. Learning more about the environment and animal rights, I began falling in love with veganism. I had a fire born within me to be a part of something bigger than myself. I began sharing my voice through writing, social media, and a blog that started with the name "Inner Peaces". I've always felt the urge to do more with it.

Alongside my creative work, I’ve spent the last four years as a nurse. From labor & delivery to working at a sexual health clinic, nursing has taught me compassion, resilience, and how to hold space for healing. My most recent full-time role was working with the LGBTQ+ community. Caring for people across a wide spectrum of gender identities, sexualities, and lived experiences opened my eyes to the power of safe spaces, storytelling, and visibility.

As I transition more of my energy into photography, storytelling, and activism, I bring with me the values nursing taught me: empathy, resilience, and the commitment to hold space for healing. It gave me a lens and perspective on the human experience and how our unique stories matter.

Inner Peace Collective is the place where all of these parts of me come together - the storyteller, the artist, the activist, the healer.
